A mum dressed up as Pennywise the Clown and hid in her own wheelie bin to terrify her son, who has a fear of clowns because he refused to make her morning cup of coffee. Hester Greeff, 41, decided to dress as the character from Stephen King’s novel and film “It” before her son Ruan Becker left for work in Johannesburg, South Africa. She frightened Ruan, 20, by dressing as the clown he had been afraid of since he was nine years old.

Ruan Becker, 20, opened the wheelie bin to find his mother, Hester Greeff, 41, dressed as Pennywise from the horror movie It. This took place in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ruan jumps back in terror and throws up his arms upon spotting the ‘killer clown’ that he has been afraid of since he was nine. However, it turns out that it was just his mother playing a prank on him after he refused to make her a coffee.

Hester is waiting in the bin outside her home after Jannie Botha, her boyfriend, asked Ruan to take out the rubbish.

Ruan opens the lid and suddenly jumps back in terror when he spots the ‘killer clown’ inside.

He throws his arms in the air and shouts out in shock before dropping the bin lid back down.

Jannie is having a good laugh while holding the camera, as Ruan drops the bag and quickly dashes back into the house.

Hester transformed herself into a terrifying character using an old fancy dress outfit and make-up. She dressed as Pennywise and hid in a wheelie bin to scare her son, who is afraid of clowns.

She dressed up as Pennywise, the clown from the movie ‘It’, by wearing an orange wig, painting her face white, and adding a red nose and smile that extended above her eyes.

The ensemble was perfected by donning a lengthy white gown, contributing to the spectral atmosphere of the character defined as ‘cosmic evil’ in Stephen King’s novel.

Ruan, a hospital authorization clerk, said: ‘I was so scared, I didn’t know what to do. ‘I absolutely hate clowns, I have been ever since I watched IT when I was nine years old. ‘I had no idea they had planned anything so it was a complete shock. I didn’t see it coming as this is completely out of character for my mum.
