During singer Rebecca Selley’s unforgettable blind audition on The Voice, it was her young son, JJ, and his enchanting rendition of “Let It Go” alongside coach Kelly Rowland that sparked a viral sensation. “Did you know they posted my video and then my son’s video, and it has, I believe, 10 million views?” she excitedly mentions.
“I had hoped he would be able to carry a tune.” However, what filled me with the most pride was his duet with Kelly. “I absolutely cherished that moment!” she exclaimed. With a baby on the way, the question arises: will this expectant mother be delighted if her son embarks on a full-time career in the entertainment industry?
“I’ve always had reservations about the industry, particularly for someone so young,” she confides. At 34, Selley recognizes that she won’t stand in the way if her son inherits her musical talents. “Although he has a genuine fondness for singing and dancing, this moment might just be a turning point for him.” However, if he discovers true passion and talent in the performing arts, I will wholeheartedly support and guide him to the best of my abilities.”
