Bruce Willis Holds On Tightly To His Daughter’s Hand As He Spends Thanksgiving With His Family

Bruce Willis spent Thanksgiving with his complete family on Thursday, holding fast to his daughter Scout Willis’s hand. For the 68-year-old actor’s admirers, it was a moving occasion following his retirement from Hollywood and his family’s announcement last March that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a rare condition that deteriorates language, behavior, and personality.

Scout, 32, shared a video on Instagram Stories captioned, “my guy,” showing her extending a hand to Bruce, who glances at it before taking it, prompting a broad smile from Scout. Later, Scout posted a picture of herself tenderly resting her head on Bruce’s hand. Bruce wore a grey cap and a long-sleeved sports shirt, while Scout donned a white, puff-sleeved floral blouse.

Bruce is also the father of four other daughters: Rumer, 35, and Tallulah, 29, with his first wife Demi Moore; and Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, with his current wife, Emma Heming Willis. Following Bruce’s dementia diagnosis, both of his wives and all of his children have come together. Family photos shared by Emma included Rumer’s fiancé, Derek Richard Thomas, and Scout’s boyfriend, Jake Miller.

In April, Rumer and Derek welcomed their daughter Louetta, and it appears that Rumer was still pregnant when some of the photos were taken. Emma expressed her gratitude in a heartfelt post, captioning a family photo with, “I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love.” Rumer also shared a nostalgic photo of herself as a child with Bruce, writing, “Really missing my papa today,” just a month after a friend reported on Bruce’s dementia decline.

The creator of the hit 1980s sitcom “Moonlighting,” Glenn Gordon Caron, shared insights about his visits with Bruce, revealing that while Bruce’s verbal skills have diminished, he still retains a sense of his identity. Despite his condition, Bruce’s essence remains, although the joie de vivre that defined him is now absent.

Bruce’s battle with aphasia, a condition affecting language abilities, led to his retirement from showbiz last year. His family announced in March that his illness had progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Despite the challenges, Bruce’s family continues to support him, cherishing moments like their Thanksgiving together.
