Shaney-Lee Captivates Audiences on “The Voice Kids” UK with Charming John Denver Audition

Seven-year-old Shaney-Lee, living on a farm in southwest England surrounded by horses, goats, and chickens, has a deep love for country and western music. This connection to the countryside made John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” the perfect song choice for his blind audition on “The Voice Kids” UK.

During his audition, judge will.i.am asked Shaney-Lee if he had ever ridden a horse. Shaney-Lee confidently replied, “I came here on my horse today,” adding to the charm he brought to the stage.

The audience and judges were instantly captivated by his cuteness. As Shaney-Lee began singing, “Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze, country roads, take me home…,” judge Danny Jones exclaimed, “That is the cutest voice I’ve ever heard!”

The audience was equally enchanted. Within twenty seconds, they were on their feet, clapping along, and some even had tears in their eyes.

“The Voice Kids” UK, open to children between 7 and 14, highlighted Shaney-Lee’s unique charm. His mom describes him as “definitely an older person in a little man’s body.”
